Aluminium

Aluminum resists quite well the effect of air and water and is therefore not prone to corrosion, and is therefore often used instead of steel. The corrosion resistance of aluminum is based on the protective oxide layer formed on the surface. The surface of the aluminum therefore oxidizes, but the oxide layer formed on the surface protects the lower layers from corrosion. Often aluminum is alloyed with other metals, for example magnesium. The good thermal conductivity of aluminum is utilized, especially in the electronics industry. Aluminum’s electrical conductivity is also very good.
